If you are on a reputable "real people trading only" forum, or discord, or whatever, there's nothing stopping someone from PMing you, going and getting the item for forum gold, then meeting you and trading you the item that they just bought from a bot. Then, when I ask them how they got it that fast, they tell me they got it from a 24/7 automated bot for forum gold. Lo and behold, they now magically have the item I was looking for. But then it turned dark after the bots took over all of the real trading, and my trade forum started slacking due to a lack of legit traders.Įxample: I make a game advertising "this gg rare or crafted item for your other unique, runeword, or rune." Eventually someone comes in, they try to negotiate, They tell me to wait five minutes, and they will come back. Trading with people and explaining my janky casual builds with them was the best part of the game for me. Stupid silly builds like Throwing Barbs and Elemental Paladins, Valkyrie based Amazons and Bone Prison Skeletal Mage Necros, I was never a "super serious meta build" player. When I was super active in the USEast community on trading forums, I took pride in being a "100% human found" trader, where I would spend hours every night doing MF runs and trading those items to fuel my non-MF characters. While I agree that having people trading is the best way to promote a healthy playerbase, I believe that this idea of yours will simply become a "Forum Gold transaction with extra steps." I have personally been on the receiving end of this. JSP is where the mass of the botting issue stems from as well so it’s kind of a eye sore on the D2 community □♂️ I mean, yeah technically JSP is cheating because you’re using a third party RMT currency, which is against TOS, but that’s not really what this is about, and not the point that I’m making. But it’s also not going to change so there’s no reason to put words in my mouth over it. It’s an unfair advantage at the beginning of a season, that’s not debatable. I’m not saying that JSP is going to be removed so there’s no need to be so defensive about it. But people with a ton of FG are starting the season with the ability to automatically be the first players with fully geared BiS characters because they don’t actually have to do anything other than level a character and buy what they want. Trading is great when everyone starts at ground zero and works their way up.
